Price:
£2650oiro
Description:
Super star pony, brilliant for an adult who wants to return to thir pony ridng days as he''s great fun - and safe! Don''t be put off by his age. I''m very tentatively advertising my lovely cob for sale. I can''t quite believe I''m doing it as he''s everything I want in a horse but money has become rather tight. He stands at 13.3 at the moment, his croup is 14hh so he''ll make at least that and I wouldn''t be at all surprised if he makes another inch or two. He seems to grow an inch when being ridden and takes up the leg well, the rider in the pic is 5''6. Danny is well bred having Parc, Trevallion, Llanarth and Nebo bloodlines and has super, straight movement and strong conformation to reflect that. He is very good to catch, trim (super feet, doesn''t need shoes)and box (although this can take 5 mins while he thinks about it, not naughty or dangerous, just hasn''t done it much). Excellent to handle, he doesn''t have a mean bone in his body. He is a very comfy and responsive ride, pops happily in to canter and has jumped a small pole, he works well into the corners of the school, does a few nice bits in an outline and is generally an easy ride. He doesn''t nap, buck, rear or take off. Danny is very handsome and admired by all, I think he would make a good working hunter prospect or equally would compete in dressage, pc/rc. Due to our location he has not been out in traffic although he has seen plenty next to his field and as he''s not prone to spooking I think he''d take to it quickly. I''d love Danny to go to an adult who wants to re-visit their carefree childhood pony riding days as that''s what he reminds me of. He''s very hassle free and loves to work. A teenager would also have lots of fun with him. Danny is absolutely sound and vice free (though he does bang his stable door at feed times), a totally genuine pony who''ll I''ll be more than happy to speak to genuine enquirers about. Give me a ring, I''ll answer all questions honestly as I do want to find the right home for him. Moor photos available. Sensible offers in the region of £2650, no loans or saddle thrown in.

LLEWENI ROMANOV
Age:
3
Height:
11.1
Price:
£750
Description:
This handsome chap will make a tip top show pony. He is superbly bred (reg wp&cs, bengad, coed coch, revel bloodlines), and will stand out beautifully in the ring amongst the standard greys and bays. He has the most beautiful dished head, lovely conformation and clean legs. His passport describes him as black roan not blue but there wasn''''t an option for that on here! He is good natured and has been led round, groomed and lightly ridden on the lead in full tack by my 4yr old daughter without an ounce of trouble. This super pony has no rodeo tendencies, isn't an escape artist, will live in or out, is good with other horses, isn't accident prone, loads in the trailer with a bucket, has only seen the farrier a couple of times and is getting more confident on each occasion, is a star to catch and I don't think I've ever seen him spook. Brandy has been on our yard for 3 summers now and just this month he has itched his mane and tail. It is responding really well with benzyl benzoate. This is reflected in his price and with just a little extra care I see no reason why he shouldn't show at county level and beyond (or of course, be a lovely all rounder) but without the top class price tag. Sadly for sale as for the time being my daughter would rather build sandcastles in the manege than ride! Please see his full pedigree on allbreedpedigree. Apologies for the bad light in the pictures. Tack and rugs available by seperate negotiation.

Description:
We the Dartmoor Pony Training Centre are looking for a permanent loan home for Leo who is a 9.2hh grey roan gelding, he is approx 1½ years old and came from Tavistock market in December 2006. He was once one of our most nervous ponies and didn’t like people but now is confident enough to come up to us and be stroked all over, will have head collar on and lead if time taken (not yet ready to be walked up to in field for this). He is a very sweet pony and we think will come on quickly with daily handling.

He has warts on his nose and has had homeopathic remedy to help with this, the vet has advised there is nothing that can be done for them and that they will drop off on their own accord.

About us
We are a non-profit organisation registered with the Council for Voluntary Services. Please see below a summary of our aims:

To take on a number of ponies every year to train and re-home preferably doing ‘high profile’ jobs e.g. working as therapy ponies. We hope that these ponies will act as ambassadors for the breed.

To promote Dartmoor Hill ponies in any way possible.

To offer advice and marketing and training support to people wanting to sell their ponies privately (including online sales list.)

To offer advice and information on suitable training methods for working with Dartmoor Hill ponies. (Including running training workshops and events.)

To compile a list of national trainers with experience working with Dartmoor Hill Ponies.

To work alongside and support other organisations and bodies working with Hill Ponies to help us achieve our aims.

BERTIE
Age:

Description:
We the Dartmoor Pony Training Centre are looking for a permanent loan home for Bertie. Bertie is a brown 2½ year old gelding, he was given to us by a farmer after a training method was done on him which he really didn’t take to, we believe this to be the root cause of his nervousness with new people and new situations.

We are very fond of Bertie! He is a lovely friendly pony and bomb proof when he feels secure in his environment and with people he trusts. We can catch him, lead him and pick up feet, we have rasped his feet and he is fine with this, we can jump up and down behind him and he doesn’t care! We have put a saddle on and waved it around his face and again he is fine with this. He is perfect in every way until he is out of his comfort zone when he worries and needs confident reassuring handling by someone he trusts.
We don’t believe he should be left without company when he first arrives in his new home in case he panics, though once settled the loaner could start to see how he is if left for small amounts of time. He needs an experienced home who can spend lots of time with him to build up a bond so he trusts them and then get him used to experiencing new things slowly. With us he is 100% in every way but when the vet needs to see him he panics so needs the right understanding handler (if the loaner were to shout at him in situations like this he would more than likely bolt, sweet talk him and he will calm down). Would make a good lightweight adults riding pony in a few years time, he should make 13.2.

This pony has a special place in our hearts and we really want to find him the home he deserves.

Description:
We the Dartmoor Pony Training Centre are looking to home Pippin a 2½ year old gelding who we took on from a farmer in October 2005. Pippin was originally one of our sponsor ponies but is quite a nervy pony and so we decided was not suitable to be travelled to lots of shows to meet his public! We therefore retired him from the scheme.

He is a very friendly pony and happily has a head collar on and will lead but you must be slow in approaching him. We are currently building up his confidence in us so not yet worked on feet. We think he will come on quickly with the right daily handling but may take a while to settle in to a new home as he has been in current herd since he was 6 months old.

He is a very sweet natured pony and we really want to find him a home that ca give him the attention he deserves to bring out his full potential.

Description:
We the Dartmoor Pony Training Centre are looking for a home for Clyde. He came to us with the mare Bonnie when their owner sadly died.

Clyde is a wonderful gentle pony, he is easily caught and led and is fine with his feet, we have put a saddle on him and he didn't seem to care! He will be a lovely pony and friend for someone. He has not been out on the roads yet so we do not know how he is in traffic so any one who takes him on will need to be happy to progress his training in this respect. He is a very chilled pony and we think once backed would be ideal for a child's lead rein.

We at the Dartmoor Pony Training Centre are looking for a permanent loan home for Harry. Harry came to us when his companion sadly died and we agreed to re-home him.

Harry is a bay gelding, he is about 7 years old and has just been backed. He lunges in walk and trot and has been ridden on a lead rein. He will make a good lead rein pony and is good with kids though will need some one to supervise him to make sure he does not take advantage, if he is given an inch he will take a mile. We at the Dartmoor Pony Training Centre are looking for a permanent loan home for Alfie.

Alfie is a bay 3/4 year old gelding. He came to us recently from a lady who had brought him and others at Tavistock market in October 2006. She could no longer cope with them. He is nervous and he has not had a head collar on yet. He will sniff us and let us stroke his head and neck and is very interested and always following us around. He went through a traumatic incident last year which is why he is nervy and why we are taking his training very slowly. We are looking for a caring knowledgeable home who can bring this pony on, we will carry on our work in the meantime. He is extremely kind natured and will make a wonderful pony for some one.
